Artist Statement
Drawing on feminist themes and emotional exploration, my work uses AR filters to create interactive experiences that express my concepts with lightheartedness and humor. By engaging with these digital pieces, audiences are encouraged to reflect on the emotions and themes embedded in the work, fostering a personal connection to the concepts presented.
Each filter acts as a conduit, merging playfulness with critical engagement to connect the viewer with the underlying themes of my work. This approach seeks to create a space where audiences can engage in meaningful and accessible discussions about emotional health and related questions.
For instance, the Anxiety series was inspired by sound waves derived from recordings of my own anxious voice. I chose sound waves because I believe sound is one of the most immediate and impactful ways to convey emotions. By recording emotional sounds—such as those of anxiety, tension, and depression—I transform their waveforms into visual forms that can be both observed and, metaphorically, 'touched. This approach highlights the fluidity of emotions while transforming intangible feelings into a tangible and accessible artistic language.
